The wood is used as construction material from antiquity. It’s a raw material in abundance in nature. This article has as objective the use of wood angelim-iron species and cupiúba in the processes of construction of the city of Boa Vista/RR, in relation to the durability and sustainability, aiming at cleaner production, with low environmental impact and the reduction of waste generated in construction. The methodology will have a descriptive approach, bibliographical, documentary and field. At the end, the research conducted in the field, presents a proposal for improving the use of the material in buildings, which approaches the problems of this material.
