Abstract:

Fractures in permanent teeth due to trauma have become an increasingly frequent problem, and these fractures often affect the dentin-pulp complex. Direct pulp capping with MTA and tooth fragment reattachment with a self-adhesive resin cement proved to be a minimally invasive and high success rate procedure over one year follow-up. The objective of this article is to discuss relevant aspects about tooth fragment reattachment and direct pulp capping, reporting a clinical case of anterior tooth fracture. MTA was selected as the direct pulp capping material and tooth fragment reattachment was bonded with a self-adhesive resin cement. Clinical examination after one year recall showed excellent function and esthetics, pulp vitality and periodontal health.
