1. A Location Based Value Prediction for Quality of Web Service

Author- Dr.C.K.Gomathy, K. Bindhu sravya, P. Swetha, S.Chandrika
Abstract- The number of web services with functionality increases, the service users usually depends on web recommendation systems. Now a days the service users pay more importance on non functional properties which are also known as Quality of Service (QoS) while finding and selecting appropriate web services. Collaborative filtering approach predicts the QoS values of the web services effectively. Existing recommendation systems rarely consider the personalized influence of the users and services in determining the similarity between users and services. The proposed system is a ranking oriented hybrid approach which integrates user-based and item-based QoS predictions. Many of the non-functional properties depends on the user and the service location. The system thus employs the location information of users and services in selecting similar neighbors for the target user and service and thereby making personalized service recommendation for service users.

3. Adsorption of Methylene Blue Dye from Industrial Effluents Using Coal Fly Ash

Author- Neeraj Jain, M.K. Dwivedi, Ashok Waskle
Abstract- Industrial Wastewater contains several type of dye, causing serious environmental hazard. The discharge of highly colored effluents into natural water bodies not only is aesthetically displeasing, but also impedes light penetration, thus upsetting biological processes within stream and thus required treatment before discharge into a water body. In the present study, fly ash generated from coal based thermal powers station has been converted into a low-cost adsorbent for the removal of Methylene Blue from effluents of textile industry. Batch studies have been carried out to study the effect of pH, adsorbent doses, adsorbate concentration, temperature and contact time. The results of batch studies reveal that the adsorption of Methylene Blue is strongly pH dependent and maximum Methylene Blue removal is observed at equilibrium pH of 7.0. Optimum adsorbent dose and contact time are found to be 10 g/l and 360 minutes respectively. Kinetic studies have been performed to have an idea of the mechanistic aspects and to obtain the thermodynamic parameters of the process. The results also show that adsorption decreases with increase in temperature thereby showing the process exothermic in nature. Adsorption data have also been correlated with both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models.
Keywords- Fly ash, adsorption, Methylene Blue, Langmuir, Freundlich isotherm, adsorbate.

Author- Dr.C.K.Gomathy, Y.Saranya, G.Vanisree, N.Yaswanthi
Abstract- A Location sharing system is the most critical component in mobile online social networks (MOSNS).Huge number of user's location information will be stored by the service providers. In addition to the location privacy and social network privacy cannot be guaranteed to the user in the earlier work. Regarding the enhanced privacy against the inside attacker implemented by the service provider in (MOSNS), we initiate a new architecture with multiple servers .It introduces a protected solution which supports a location sharing among friends and strangers. The user friend set in each query is submitted to the location server it divides into multiple subset by the location server. If the user makes a query to the server the data can be retrieved only for the registered users instead of all. We use Three Layer of Security likely, High, Medium and Low for the Privacy implementation. Simultaneously with a location sharing it offers check ability of the searching results reoccurred from the servers. We also prove that the new construction is safe under the stronger security model with enhanced privacy.

Author- Ashish Rohilla, Anuj Vikal, Hitesh Prashar, Husain S.Q.
Abstract- The present disclosure relates to an apparatus that can maintain a required thermal condition[TC] of an object for a period of time. The apparatus comprises a thermal sheet[TS] having thickness[t] nearly same as a blanket and incorporates a pipe to circulate a fluid. The thermal sheet can be used in combination with a Thermal Energy Reservoir [TER] that can be configured with a thermally insulated chamber to hold a thermal reservoir substance kept in the thermally insulated chamber. A pump can circulate the fluid through a second pipe placed in the thermally insulated chamber and thereafter through the pipe in the thermal sheet. A hot reservoir substance [heat source] can provide heating effects and a cold reservoir substance [heat sink] can likewise be used to provide a cooling effect. Thus the thermal sheet[TS] has the capability to keep a body at a required thermal condition[TC] (high or low temperature) for a period of time.

Author- Prashant Ambadekar, Abhishek Ayare, Bhushan Mahajan, Sushmita Bade, Virendra Desai-Patil
Abstract- This paper primarily concerns with the determination of life of bracket assembly of Azimuth Thruster under fatigue and structural considerations. An Azimuth thruster is an arrangement of marine propellers placed in pods which can be rotated to any horizontal angle (azimuth). Joseph Becker, invented the Z-drive azimuth propeller first in 1950, whereas this kind of propulsion was first patented by Pleuger in 1955. The ships fitted with this system give better maneuverability than a fixed propeller and rudder system. As thrust acts on the assembly, the well is supported by structures like brackets, struts etc. After brief research on the optimization of design of propellers, performances, there is a scope of improvisation in the design of supporting structures related to the assembly. In this paper, problems while assembling the structure are discussed. In order to mitigate these problems, its expected life under working conditions is found out. Also, structural analysis is carried out to compare as-designed and as-fitted assembly under given thrust loading conditions.

Author- Ahmed K. Abd E Aal, Abdullah A. Al-Homidy
Abstract- The rapid expansion in the civil and industrial activities in the eastern area of Saudi Arabia has made the improvement of local soils an indispensable task. It is essential for the designers and builders to be able to select an appropriate stabilizer to fulfill the engineering, environmental and economic requirements of the local soils. This study is to evaluate the economic utilization as well as the possibility of improving the mechanical properties of local soils utilizing indigenous industrial by-products, such as oil fuel ash (OFA), cement kiln dust (CKD) and electric arc furnace dust (EAFD). Three types of eastern Saudi soils, namely sand, non-plastic marl and sabkha, were treated with different dosages of the selected industrial by-products. The mechanical properties of the stabilized soils were evaluated by determining the unconfined compressive strength and the durability of the developed mixtures. Micro-characterization methods, such as x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), were utilized to qualitatively study the mechanisms of soil stabilization due to the use of the selected industrial by-products. Results of this investigation indicated that non-plastic marl stabilized with 7% cement was found to be suitable for base course in rigid pavements while the same soil stabilized with 5% cement or with 30% EAFD plus 2% cement or with 30% CKD plus 2% cement was found to be suitable for sub-base course. Non-plastic marl stabilized with 20% EAFD plus 2% cement was found to be suitable as a sub-base in rigid pavements. Dune sand stabilized with 7% cement or with 30% CKD plus 2% cement or with 20% EAFD plus 2% cement was found to be suitable for sub-base course in rigid pavements. Sand stabilized with 30% EAFD was found to be an appropriate material for sub-base in flexible pavements. However, sabkha stabilized with 7% cement or with 30% CKD plus 2% cement was found to be suitable for sub-base course in rigid pavements.

13. A Study on the Effectiveness of Bracing System for Lateral loading

Author- Dhruba jyoti Borthakur, Dr. (Mrs) Nayanmoni Chetia
Abstract- An attempt has been made to study the reduction in responses of a structure under lateral loading due to the incorporation of a bracing system. In practice a building structure is subjected to eccentric loading due to the placement of different nonstructural elements within and above the structure. Due to the effect of eccentric loading a building normally experiences lateral as well as torsional displacement under seismic loading. Bracing system in any form increases the overall stiffness of the system and hence acts as a control mechanism for both lateral and torsional movement of the structure. In this study a single storey steel frame model is analyzed in a shake table for three different loading conditions namely frame without any extra mass, frame with a central mass and frame with an eccentric mass. A pair of X bracing system is then introduced to the structure and analyzed for the same three conditions. Comparisons are made for different responses namely lateral displacement, velocity, acceleration and torsional movement of the frame at roof level with and without bracing system. From the study it is clear that the bracing system is effective for reducing the lateral movement as well as the torsional effect to a great extent. Model study shows that a bracing system results in a reduction in the displacement at roof level up to about 80% as compared to that of an unbraced frame.

Author- Peter O. Aiyelabowo, A. Sali, SamsulBahari b. Noor, NorKamariah Noordin
Abstract- The requirement of high-speed data for various forms of application is increasing rapidly. Power Line communication (PLC), a technology which uses the existing power line network as a transmission medium, is a choice for this provision, owing to the ready presence of the medium. This channel (power line), is severely bewitched by noise and attenuation owing to the branches, length and the load connection on the line. Cooperative relaying, which transmits the same information through several nodes is deployed in this paper to combat the data outages caused by the channel’s characteristics. Amplify-and-forward and decode-and-forward were the cooperative protocols deployed. The outage probability of each of the protocols were obtained, analysed and compared with the conventional direct link (without cooperation). Results shows that outage probability was drastically reduced on the cooperative links. The performances of the two cooperative links were close due to the noise mitigating circuit incorporated. This achievement in outage probability performance enhances the reliability of the PLC system.

Abstract- This paper presents the design of a solar tracking system driven by an AVR microcontroller. This project is done by two ways of tracking system, manual and auto tracking. This project is very useful for street light in the campus and villages. The solar panel converts the sun light into the electrical energy, because sun is a very good source of different energies. And the solar energy is the best technique for renewable energy. Basically the energy sources are two types such as conventional energy sources and non-conventional energy sources. Coal, petroleum, natural gas etc. are example of conventional energy sources and solar cell, fuel cells, thermo-electric generator, thermionic converter, solar power generation, wind power generation, geo-thermal energy generation etc. are example of non-conventional energy sources. In developing countries where electricity supplies are inadequate, renewable energy can offer an alternative to expensive extensions of the grid to sparsely populated or rural areas, or a contribution to the grid-based energy mix to meet rapidly expanding electricity demand in urban areas. This work presents an autonomous street lighting system based on solar energy as primary source, batteries as secondary source, and light emitting diodes as lighting source. Author- Kangkan Sarma, Dr. (Mrs) Nayanmoni Chetia
Abstract- Skirted foundations are the shallow foundations in which the footing is reinforced by the addition of vertical plates or skirts. Skirted foundation is one of the new approaches for improving the performance of shallow raft foundation by using skirts to it. The improvement in performance of skirted foundation depends on the geometrical and structural properties of the skirt and footing such as shape, depth of the footing and skirt, skirt geometry etc; soil characteristics namely index properties of soil and the interface conditions of the soil-skirt-foundation systems such as roughness and material of the skirt etc. In the present work an attempt has been made to determine the behaviour of surface raft with and without skirts under two different soil model- Hardening soil model and Mohr-Coulomb model using a finite element software PLAXIS 2D. The analytical results show that with the increase in skirt depth, the bearing capacity increases and settlement decreases for both the model.

24. Estimating Node Density and Achieving Energy Efficient In Wireless Sensor Networks

Author- J.Sofiya merlin, Dr.M.G.Sumithra
Abstract- In Wireless Sensor Networks, energy consumption is an important issue compared with other parameter. Minimum Energy consumption is achieved by the duty cycle in the network. The concept of a low duty cycle is representing as a periodic wake-up scheme. If the nodes residual energy is higher than the threshold value the node act as a parent node and it creates the leaf node during the transmission finally forwards the packets based on the energy level in the node. If the nodes residual energy is lower than the threshold value the node act as a child node, which is, enter the sleep mode. After finishing the sleep period it will wake up and check the channel if any transmission is there. If packet is to be transmitting or receiving, the nodes forward the packet otherwise again go to the sleep state. In AODV, protocol has the highest energy consumption than the Modified Energy AODV protocol. However, this concept is applicable only in small network. Simulation results show that Modified Energy AODV provides better performance in terms of energy, packet delivery ratio and throughput.

Author- Girish Paliwal, Swapnesh Taterh
Abstract- MANET is a dynamic topology wireless network in which each mobile works as a sender and receiver wireless router. MANET have very low deployment cost, a low cost option to extend network coverage and ease of maintenance due to their self healing properties. MANETs are powered by batteries that have very limited capacity and it is a very important issue. The primary goal of MANET routing protocols is to find out an efficient route between any two mobile nodes with minimum time and less resource consumption. The MANET routing protocol designing is a very challenging due to various challenges such as the nodes have short battery life, small bandwidth, number of paths between source and destination, variable population of nodes and lose links. The central focus of this paper is to comparative study of different kinds of routing protocols and comparing on the basis of some common properties. Therefore, it is quite difficult to determine which protocols may perform best under a number of different network scenarios, such as increasing node density and traffic mobility. In this paper, we try to provide an overview of a topology based routing protocols proposed in the literature.
